SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - An Oceanside man was sentenced Monday in the death of a 36-year-old Ramona woman who was killed in a crash on Highway 67.

Fifty-two-year-old John Holsheimer pleaded guilty to misdemeanor manslaughter for driving on the wrong side of Highway 67 and crashing head-on into Bridgette Hale's vehicle, causing the fatal accident on January 26.

Authorities later found traces of drugs in Holsheimer's system, but they never charged him with a DUI. That's because they didn't test him at the scene.
