"Heart Gallery" displayed at Escondido's main library, east branch

Posted: Updated:

In honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, San Diego County Adoptions is featuring its "Heart Gallery" at Escondido's main library and east branch.

The Heart Gallery features portraits of foster children who are waiting to find permanent homes.

Luci Dumas is one of several local photographers who donate their time and talents to capture beautiful images of the News 8 Adopt 8 kids, hoping that prospective families will see these smiles and fall in love.

"I want people to see the soul of these children. I want them to feel they know who they are and maybe at the end fall in love with them and say, ‘I want to give them a home or I know someone that would be perfect for them.' That's my goal," said Dumas.

The Heart Gallery will be featured through November at the main library in Escondido, which is located at 239 South Kalmia Street and also the city's east branch at 2245 East Valley Parkway.

If your business or group is interested in hosting a Heart Gallery, please call 1-877-I-ADOPT-U.
