Like the thousands of other like-minded San Diegans, it's the story of another individual ready to blister up and struggle through a 60-mile weekend waltz to help cure - once and for all - breast cancer in our lifetime.
Another weekend of long walks, for those training this weekend - and what a great weekend for them. If you're following the training guidelines, logging around 10 miles each day this weekend will have you ready to ROCK on Friday when everything gets underway in Del Mar.
It's getting a little exciting, especially for someone like me who is doing this for the first time. Having printed my check-in credential (they scan you at the start and finish every day to keep track of the many, MANY participants in this event), I've noticed on the Komen 3-Day site the forums are abuzz with excitement about Friday's big start.
I'll have some posts during the walk Friday - along with some photos that evening. It really is an exciting event, and if you've never been a part of this consider doing this walk in 2011. Registration is already open. And the most important thing, of course, is the fundraising that will help to find a cure for cancer in our lifetime.
