CARLSBAD (CBS 8) -  A Carlsbad couple has a good picture of the man who burglarized their home, after he was caught on their security camera.

Ashley Millington and her husband were at work Monday morning when their home in a gated community in southwest Carlsbad was burglarized.

"We know he took a suitcase, presumably to carry our possessions in," Millington said.

Stolen along with that suitcase were thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment, a small amount of cash, and Millington's jewelry, including her grandmother's necklace. While not worth much monetarily, she says it carries priceless sentimental value.

"So it's very frustrating that he took my memories and he's not going to get anything out of them," Millington said, "and I guess my biggest fear is, when he figures that out, he's just going to toss them."

However, this burglar apparently left something behind: his image, captured on a video surveillance camera the Millingtons had set up.

"It looked to us like he was attempting to unplug it. He did unplug it," Millington said.

Before he disconnected it, though, the camera captured a detailed close-up of his face, including a telltale mole under the left side of his chin.

"He seems to be easily identifiable," Millington said."I am certain someone out there is going to know who he is, and I'm hoping that they will come forward and provide some information."

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Carlsbad police at 760-931-2197.
