First snow hits local mountains

Posted: Updated:

It's only a dusting, but they'll take it up in Mount Laguna.  The first snowfall of the season started around 10 Sunday morning,  but didn't start sticking until 2 p.m.

San Diegans hoping to see snow didn't get enough of the white stuff for snowball fights or snowmen but it was cold.  Wind gusting up to 50 miles an hour made hot chocolate a popular item at the Laguna Mountain Lodge.

The forecast calls for hit and miss precipitation overnight.  Strong wind gusts could continue through mid-week.
