City Council to discuss pedi-cabs and Kate Sessions Park

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - The San Diego City Council will consider changes aimed at making the community safer, cleaner and quieter.

Council members will meet today to discuss new laws that would require pedi-cab drivers to have valid driver's licenses.

Concerns have been raised about passenger safety and the idea that pedi-cabs should obey the same rules of the road as cars.

Also up for debate are changes to the 12-hour alcohol ban at Kate Sessions Park.

The park in Pacific Beach has become a hot spot for parties since the beach booze ban took effect.

Neighbors have complained about trash and noise.
