SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police Tuesday were seeking witnesses to a parking lot fist fight in Pacific Beach that left a young man in a medically induced coma.

The fight at Cass and Hornblend streets, near Bar West, occurred at about 2:15 a.m. on Monday, according to police, who were investigating whether a San Diego Chargers player was involved.

Wide receiver Legedu Naanee told reporters Monday afternoon that he was at Bar West at the time in question but denied any involvement in the fight.

"I don't know how my name came up in it," Naanee said. "But I was (at the bar). I didn't see the fight."

Naanee also said some of his teammates were there but declined to name them.

Anyone who witnessed Monday's fight was asked to call police at (858) 552-1700.
