SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The University of Washington and the University of Nebraska football teams visited the San Diego Zoo today as part of a media blitz stretching over four days, holiday bowl officials reported.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers, last year's bowl champions, arrived at the zoo first for interviews and pictures, followed by the Washington Huskies, which finished 6-6 to qualify for its first post-season game in seven years.
Earlier this month, the Cornhuskers fell to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game.
The teams are set to visit SeaWorld on Monday, followed by several stops and practices, leading up to game day on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Qualcomm Stadium.
