'Project 25' to help San Diego's homeless

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The United Way of San Diego County is teaming up with the city and county of San Diego and several local organizations to help the homeless through a new program called Project 25.

For the next three years, Project 25 will provide permanent housing and support services for 25 homeless people who are in dire need of help. Saint Vincent de Paul Village has been selected to implement the project.

"In three years, we're going to show you some people whose lives are totally changed, because we as a community, the city, the county and all the agencies, took time to say 'Let's focus on these 25, so we can focus on the thousand that still need our help in the future.," Father Joe Carroll said.
