SAN MARCOS (CNS) - A child suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon when he ran directly into the path of a car on a North County street, authorities said.
The boy was struck by the northbound 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 in the 600 block of Woodland Parkway shortly before 2:30 p.m., sheriff's Deputy Ron Megrditchian said.
Medics airlifted the youth, whose age was not immediately confirmed, to Rady Children's Hospital for treatment of significant head and facial injuries, Megrditchian said.
The child's name was not released.
