Thieves target former Olympic athlete, go for gold

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A former Olympic athlete is asking for the public's help in getting back her gold medal.

Tristian Gale Geisler says it was stolen on Wednesday, when thieves broke into her Oceanside home.

After prying open a window, they grabbed computers, hard drives, and video games, among other things.

Then, they went for the gold, snatching up the medal Geisler won in the 2002 Women's skeleton Competition in Salt Lake City.

Neighbors say they saw three Hispanic men in their late teens or early twenties, and a female getaway driver at Geisler's home around the time of the robbery.

If you have any information about this case, call Oceanside police.
