SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Padres have claimed right-hander Samuel Deduno off waivers from the Colorado Rockies and designated infielder-outfielder Oscar Salazar for assignment.

The 27-year-old Deduno made his big league debut in 2010 with the Rockies, allowing one run over four relief appearances.

Salazar spent the majority of the last two seasons with the Padres, appearing in 140 games and batting .251 with six home runs and 38 RBIs.
