SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A pair of pizza making crime fighters foiled an armed robbery Wednesday night in Carlsbad.

Mychal Dourson, the owner of Paradise Pizza, and employee Patrick Clemons, were surprised by a gunman wearing a ski mask around midnight.

The robber started spraying them with mace and that's when both men sprang into action and tackled him.

Police showed up and arrested 22-year old La Costa resident Thomas Ruth.

He's facing assault and robbery charges, even though the weapon turned out to be a BB gun.
