NORTH PARK (CBS 8) - In a neighborhood that's a mixed bag of shabby-chic, funkily fossilized and recently rejuvenated, brothers-in-rags David and Adrian Ross have found a new home.

"We do a mix, it's about 60-40 -- 60 percent new, 40 percent gently used, current fashions," David said.

Nine years after opening their first Home store in Encinitas, the brothers opened a second location in North Park.

"We started looking here about five years ago. It was really up and coming," Adrian said.

The patriarch of Home is the Ross's late uncle Richard.

"Our uncle started Home in 1969 in New York City. It was a bar and restaurant, and he became good friends with John Lennon," Adrian said.

The walls and racks of Home are an homage to that rock and roll legacy. Museum-quality classic rock t-shirts become wearable works of art.

"We were raised with music and the arts. We pay homage to all the bands that inspired us," Adrian said.

They also sell their immensely popular branded t-shirts.

"There's a lot of people duplicating it. We have a the worldwide trademark, so this is the only place you can get the authentic family-issued Home t-shirt," Adrian said.

The business basically works like this: the brothers go out, dig up a treasure and bring it home.

"We find a piece that we really get excited about. We bring it into the store and then somebody comes in from out in the street and tries it on and it fits them perfectly and they fall in love with it and they fall in love with the store," David said.

David and Adrian, alongside Generation Next, are hoping that as the gentrification of North Park continues, locals believe there's no place like Home.
