KENTWOOD (CBS 8) - Two people are hospitalized after an explosion at a home near Julian that was triggered by a gas leak in a propane-fueled clothes dryer.

Cal Fire says the blast happened at 6:32pm Tuesday night in the 3200 block of Salton Vista Drive near Dolores Drive.

A man and a woman, both in their 60's, suffered severe injuries and were flown to UCSD Medical Center. Firefighters had to rescue the woman from under the rubble, because the blast apparently blew the roof off the home, causing debris to collapse on top of her.

San Diego County Sheriff's Bomb and Arson investigators are on the scene of the explosion. The blast caused major damage.
