PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — The way the 2010 season ended, with RBI man Jorge Cantu driving in two runs in the Texas Rangers' final 60 games, hasn't diminished the veteran infielder's confidence.
Now with the San Diego Padres after signing a one-year deal worth $850,000 on Jan. 27, Cantu has no doubt he will bounce back this season. He believes his struggles with the Rangers were because they didn't use him properly.
With the Florida Marlins, Cantu had been an everyday player. But after he was traded to Texas on July 29, Cantu was relegated to playing every other game. He hit .256 with 11 homers and 56 RBIs in 127 games last season.
