Driver rescued after crash forces car into pond in Vista

VISTA (CBS 8) - A 65-year-old man is recovering, after crashing his car into a pond Wednesday on Shadowridge Drive in Vista.

Witnesses say the driver, Gary Walker, was speeding. He was driving west in the eastbound lanes when he hit another car. Walker then hit a curb and flew over trees, landing in the pond where people were fishing

The driver was able to break out of the sunroof and wait for paramedics to arrive. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

VISTA (CBS 8) - Emergency crews rescued a man Wednesday evening after he drove his vehicle into a pond in Vista.

It happened along Shadowridge Drive near Antigua Drive. The driver was reportedly driving the wrong way on the road and made contact with another vehicle before veering into the water.

The man managed to climb his way out onto the vehicle's roof, where he was rescued. His condition was unknown.
