SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Eight people suffered apparently superficial injuries Wednesday when a city bus was involved in a three-vehicle accident on a Core-Columbia thoroughfare.
The accident on Broadway and 10th Avenue in downtown San Diego occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m., when an eastbound motorist suddenly braked, according to police.
The driver of a utility truck was unable decelerate in time to avoid rear-ending the sedan, and the work vehicle in turn was struck from behind by a bus, SDPD Lt. Andra Brown said.
Medics tended to one slightly injured patient at the scene and took seven others to a hospital for evaluation of minor complaints of pain, according to Brown.
The accident left the eastbound traffic lanes in the area closed to through traffic for nearly two hours.
