Rummaging through the park

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Get your motor running and head on down to the activity center in Balboa Park this Saturday and Sunday for the Thursday Club's annual rummage sale.

"We spent the entire year gathering rummage not only from the members, but the community, and it is the largest rummage sale in San Diego," co-chairwoman Leigh Hark said.

People will begin lining up on Friday night just to get first crack at these bargains.

The Thursday Club will raise over $100,000 from the sale to benefit Balboa Park and 16 other local charities.

If you've always wanted to play doctor at home, there's some turn-of-the-century surgical instruments, and think of the fun you'll have with your own prescription pad. It's all here, from mother of pearl to Minnie Pearl.

At the Thursday Club Rummage Sale, you might even find the trophy bride, or at least memories of a marriage long gone.

"On Saturday, we're open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.," Leigh said.

Now let's get ready to rummage!
