SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego State has received the No. 2 seed in the West region of the NCAA tournament and will open against No. 15 Northern Colorado on Thursday at Tucson, Ariz.

If the Aztecs (32-2) win both of their games at Tucson, they'll advance to the regional up the freeway in Anaheim the following weekend. San Diego State is 0-6 in NCAA tournament games, including 0-3 under coach Steve Fisher.

SDSU's previous highest seed was No. 11, both last year and in 2006.

The Aztecs won the Mountain West Conference tournament on Saturday with a 72-54 victory against BYU.
