SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two men were behind bars Thursday in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Southcrest, police said.
Cesar Swain, 25, and Jovan Garcia, 18, were arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of murder in the fatal shooting of Jesus Hernandez-Leal last Sunday, said San Diego police homicide Lt. Ernie Herbert.
About 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Hernandez-Leal was riding a small motorcycle up and down the 3500 block of Boston Avenue when someone walked up and shot him in the chest, Herbert said.
The shooter was picked up by a passing motorist and Hernandez-Leal died less than an hour later in a hospital.
Swain was arrested at his home in San Diego, while Garcia, also a San Diego resident, was arrested at his workplace, Herbert said.
It was not immediately clear which man was suspected of being the shooter or what may have motivated the slaying.
