SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The death of a Mira Mesa woman whose husband said she fell down stairs was being investigated as a homicide Friday, following a report from the county's medical examiner that revealed "unexplained trauma," according to police.

Officers were called to a home in the 7700 block of Canyon Point Lane about 12:50 a.m. Saturday to see about an injured woman who needed CPR, San Diego police Lt. Ernie Herbert said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. As a result of her injuries, she died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, Herbert said.

An autopsy found the woman sustained "unexplained trauma" to her body and a medical examiner determined the death was a homicide.

As of Thursday night, no arrests were made in connection with her death, Herbert said.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or SDPD's Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293.
