VISTA (CNS) - A 19-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to causing thousands of dollars in graffiti damage in San Marcos, Oceanside and Vista and was immediately sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Eric Ricardo Flores - who was charged with 25 counts - pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts of vandalism.

Vista Judge Marshall Hockett ordered the defendant to pay $18,200 in restitution to the city of San Marcos, and further restitution could be ordered for the cities of Oceanside and Vista, said Deputy District Attorney Jorge Del Portillo.

Flores was the fourth man arrested on suspicion of what authorities called "prolific tagging" in North County in the last month.

On March 23, Alfonso Castro Jr., 19, was arrested and charged with 77 misdemeanor vandalism charges. He pleaded guilty Wednesday to a dozen charges and was immediately sentenced to 45 days in jail for causing $34,000 in graffiti damage in Vista, Oceanside and San Marcos.

Luis Maganda, 18, was arrested March 15 and has since pleaded guilty to graffiti vandalism charges for causing more than $15,000 in damages in San Marcos. Maganda is expected to be sentenced to 180 days in custody at a hearing later this month.

On March 8, probationer Oscar Fernandez, 26, was arrested at his workplace in Oceanside and booked into jail on suspicion of 21 counts of vandalism. City officials put the total cost of his alleged offenses at about $38,000.
