PERRIS, Calif. (AP) — Two skydivers have been critically injured in a mid-air collision over an airport in Riverside County, just two weeks after another pair was killed while skydiving there.

Perris Valley Skydiving manager Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld said Friday's crash was a mid-air collision between two experienced skydivers about 200 feet above the ground.

He says the victims are experienced jumpers with a couple thousand jumps each. One is from Denmark, the other from Italy.

Both were taken to a hospital by ambulance and are in surgery.

On March 31, two skydiving instructors were killed when they collided and their parachutes deflated about 300 feet in the air.

Friday's accident occurred a day before a planned memorial jump — known as an ash dive — to honor the victims of the previous crash.
