SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Seven teens were taken to emergency rooms Friday after they fell ill at their Serra Mesa school from eating marijuana-laced brownies, authorities reported.

Medics were sent to Taft Middle School shortly after 9:30 a.m. to evaluate the condition of the youths, who complained of feeling sick and suffering from mild hallucinations, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Ambulance crews transported the youths to Rady Children's and Sharp Memorial hospitals, spokesman Maurice Luque said. Their ailments were not considered serious.

The youths admitted they had eaten brownies baked with cannabis, according to Luque.
