SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A pedestrian was wounded by an unidentified gunman on a Lincoln Park street early Thursday morning, authorities reported.
The 40-year-old victim was walking westbound at about 12:30 a.m., on Solola Avenue near South 49th Street, when the assailant approached him on foot and opened fire with a small-caliber pistol about 12:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The shooter, a thin man in a dark-colored hooded sweat shirt, fled in a four-door sedan, SDPD Officer David Stafford said.
Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of bullet wounds to his neck and back. His condition was not released.
Gang detectives were called in to investigate, Stafford said.
