SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Telephone solicitations to raise money for children with burn injuries are invalid, officials with the Burn Institute said Friday.
The organization announced that there have been reports of such calls to people recently, but reputable groups don't raise money through telemarketing.
The Burn Institute, founded in 1972, is best known for running Camp Beyond the Scars for burn-injured children each summer.
Donations can be made to the organization by calling it directly or online at burninstitute.org.
