SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 34-year-old man stabbed in a robbery attempt in Mission Beach was hospitalized Saturday.
As many as seven men attacked the man near Mission Boulevard and Santa Barbara Place about 10:45 p.m. Friday, San Diego police Sgt. Robin Rose said.
The aggressors tried to take the man's wallet and cellular telephone, a struggle ensued and he was stabbed in the chin and twice in the back, Rose said.
Medics took the wounded man to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was expected to survive, police said. His name was not released.
No immediate arrests were made. The suspects ran north on Ocean Front Walk, Rose said.
