Man, 72, found in La Jolla woods after reported missing

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A 72-year-old man with dementia is safe after being reported missing. He was rescued by the San Diego Sheriff's helicopter Monday afternoon.

Monday night around 10:30pm a pilot from the Sheriff's Department was able to locate the man. He was found in a heavily wooded area, approximately one-half mile east of the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla.

He was breathing but incoherent, possibly due to diabetic issues. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
