VISTA (CNS) - A Vista apartment manager was robbed at gunpoint in her home and sheriff's deputies continued to search Saturday for the suspect.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West California Avenue, near North Santa Fe Avenue, said Vista Sheriff's Sgt. Rob Smith.
An unidentified man, armed with a handgun, knocked on the apartment manager's door and demanded money, Smith said.
The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount and was last seen jumping a fence at the complex.
Sheriff's deputies searched the area using a dog and a helicopter, Smith said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s. He was clean shaven and was last seen wearing a long sleeved Padres shirt and jean shorts.
The apartment manager was not injured.
A pedestrian was found dead on Interstate 5 around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. California Highway Patrol say a car struck and killed the man, leaving him to die in the freeway.
