Autopsy scheduled for man stabbed to death in Ridgeview-Webster; suspect called 9-1-1

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Monday on the body of a man who was stabbed to death at a home in the Ridgeview-Webster area.  

A man called 911 to report that he had killed someone in his home in the 4800 block of Lyon Street at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police.  

When officers arrived at the home, they found the suspect waiting outside and arrested him, SDPD Lt. Kevin Rooney said.  

Inside the home, officers found the 43-year-old victim dying from a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at 1:59 a.m, Rooney said.      

The victim was tentatively identified, but his name will not be released until his identity is confirmed and his family notified, according to the coroner's office.  

The suspect has been booked into county jail on suspicion of murder, police said.  

Authorities did not immediately release the suspect's name or report what is believed to have prompted the stabbing.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A murder suspect is in custody after turning himself in to a police dispatcher Sunday.

A man called 911 at 1:38 a.m. and told a dispatcher he had killed someone in his home on the 4800 block of Lyon Street in the Ridgeview-Webster area of San Diego, police Lt. Kevin Rooney said.

Officers found the suspect waiting outside and arrested him.

Inside the home, officers found a 43-year-old man dying from a stab wound. Paramedics were called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead at 1:59 a.m, Rooney said.

The victim has been tentatively identified, but his name will not be released until officers obtain a search warrant for the house to examine the victim and search for evidence.

Detectives will book the suspect into county jail for one count of murder, Rooney said. His name will be released after he is positively identified.
