SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - CBS 8 is the proud media sponsor of this year's Susan G. Komen for the Cure San Diego 3-Day, which takes place from November 18 to the 20. And, Saturday, June 4, 2011 marked the kick-off for the 24 week training period.
News 8's Barbara-Lee Edwards and Matt Baylow welcomed the walkers Saturday morning outside the New Balance store in Cardiff.
After stretching, everyone took off for a brisk walk.
CBS 8's Buddies for Life team is helping raise money to help end breast cancer.
"I'm a three-year breast cancer survivor. My mom and sister are survivors, as well. I enjoy the support and camaraderie of the 3-Day experience and getting out there and spreading the word about breast cancer," said breast cancer survivor, Cindy Golden.
