Man in drag attempts to rob Lincoln Park bank

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A big man in drag tried to rob a Lincoln Park bank Saturday, but quickly gave up and fled empty-handed.

Wearing a flowered blouse and "lots of lip gloss," the man entered the Wells Fargo branch in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue around 3:15 p.m., said San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.

He handed the teller a demand note but the teller did not comply, Battrick said, and the would-be robber left empty-handed.

He was described as a black male in his 20s, between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall, weighing between 170 and 175 pounds, wearing a white hat, sunglasses and a flowered shirt and carrying a black backpack with the initials SWC in purple.

It's native to the rainforests of Indonesia. Binturongs are also called bearcats, but that name is rather misleading since these animals are not related to bears OR cats.
