Man who flashed cashier at Escondido convenience store to be sentenced

Posted: Updated:

VISTA (CNS) - A registered sex offender convicted of flashing a female cashier at a 7-Eleven in Escondido last year was expected to learn his fate Monday.

Michael James McKinzie was scheduled to be sentenced Monday afternoon at the Vista courthouse.

The 45-year-old defendant was on probation for a child molestation conviction when he was arrested June 10, 2010 on suspicion of exposing himself to the Escondido cashier.

Escondido police said the flashing took place as McKinzie was purchasing something from the convenience store.

Detectives scrutinized surveillance video from the business to identify McKinzie.
