Woman struck and killed while crossing street in Clairemont

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A woman struck by a car and killed while crossing a Clairemont street has been identified Sunday as 57-year-old Tina Vang, the county medical examiner reported.

Vang was struck at 9:45 p.m. Saturday by a white Chevy Impala sedan traveling south, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Vang was crossing the 7700 block of Linda Vista Road to her car after leaving a family party when she was struck, police said. The driver was not cited pending the outcome of a traffic investigation.

Vang was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital where, despite resuscitative efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the medical examiner's office said.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 57-year-old woman struck by a car in Clairemont was fatally injured, police said Sunday.

The accident in the 7700 block of Linda Vista Road was reported at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, and the woman was declared dead at a hospital, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

The woman, just leaving a family party, was crossing the street to her car when she was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Impala, Stafford said. Her name was unavailable early Sunday.

The man driving the car was not cited in the death, pending the outcome of a traffic investigation, Stafford said.
