VISTA (CNS) - A preliminary hearing was rescheduled Monday to Aug. 24 for an Oceanside man accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl for five months.
Robert Jay Kaden was 49 when he arrested in September 2009 at his South Myers Street home on suspicion of statutory rape, lewd acts with a minor and furnishing drugs to a minor, according to Oceanside police.
The alleged victim, a runaway, told detectives that Kaden provided her with marijuana and had sex with her at his home and local motels, police said.
Kaden, now 51, also allegedly showed the teen photographs of other apparently juvenile girls, boasting that he had sex with them as well.
A judge will decide at the end of the preliminary hearing whether there's enough evidence to order Kaden to stand trial.
A readiness conference is set for July 27.
