SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police Monday were investigating the death of a bicyclist in a traffic crash in Nestor.
Jaime Ruiz, 47, of San Diego died in the 1200 block of Hollister Boulevard late Sunday night, according to San Diego police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Ruiz was riding his bike northbound in southbound lanes when he hit a parked car and fell into the path of a Toyota Tundra pickup which hit him and caused fatal injuries, SDPD Officer Dino Delimitros said.
Ruiz, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:53 p.m., the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
