SAN DIEGO (AP) - Police say a bouncer was stabbed four times when he tried to stop a customer who skipped out on his tab at a San Diego bar.
The confrontation took place early Sunday near the Tens nightclub in San Diego's North Park neighborhood.
Police say the 35-year-old bouncer's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police told the San Diego Union-Tribune that the bouncer followed the 27-year-old customer when he left the club without paying and confronted him.
Despite his wounds, the bouncer chased and tackled the suspect and held him until police arrived and arrested him for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon.
Officer David Stafford says the suspect was hurt when the two struggled over the knife so he was also taken to the hospital.
