Free trash pickup for private streets ends Friday

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Free trash pickup on private streets ends Friday for some county residents.

Instead, they'll have to start paying for private trash collection, which usually runs about $20 a month.

A group of HOA's is suing the city to seek a stop order. A preliminary hearing is set July 15th.

At that time, the judge will decide if the city should provide trash service ahead of a formal trial.
