3 pints of in season berries, mix it up
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp Arrowroot
1 cup baking mix
1 cup fast cooking oatmeal
1 stick butter
1/2 gallon Vanilla bean ice cream
Wash and dry your fruit, slice the nectarines. In a mixing bowl combine fruit, 3/4 cup sugar and arrowroot. Rub skillet or baking pan with a 1/4 stick of butter, now place fruit mixture in the buttered skillet/pan. Melt the rest of the butter, remove from heat and toss in baking mix, oatmeal and remaining sugar. Then, sprinkle over the fruit mixture.
You can now place it in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or if your grill has a cover move the coals to one side and place the skillet on the other. Close lid and check in after 30 minutes (it might take a little longer than the oven).
Remove from oven or grill, let the crumble cool until it's just warm, scoop it out and serve with ice cream. Happy 4th of July!
