NTSB: 4 killed in plane crash at Calif. med office

Posted: Updated:

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Federal investigators say a total of four people were killed in the small plane that crashed into a Central California medical building.

The lead investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board said Friday that two adults and two children were found dead in the wreckage.

Officials initially reported two dead in the Thursday night crash on the grounds of Watsonville Community Hospital. The plane went into an unoccupied office building.

But NTSB investigator Michael Huhn says the death toll was raised after authorities extracted the aircraft from the building. Huhn says all the victims were on board the 1974 single-engine Mooney M20.

No one on the ground was hurt.
