SPRING VALLEY (CBS 8) - We now know the name of a woman who died in a crash in Spring Valley Saturday morning.

The medical examiner has identified the victim as 27-year-old Elisa Osuna of Chula Vista.

The CHP says Osuna lost control of her vehicle on eastbound highway 94 at Bancroft Street. The car rolled over and crashed through a fence.

She died at the scene.

While authorities say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, the cause remains under investigation.

SPRING VALLEY (CNS) - A 27-year-old woman was killed early Saturday when she lost control of her sports utility vehicle, rolled over and crashed through a fence, hitting a building, while driving on State Route 94, the CHP said.

The woman was the sole occupant of the 2004 Ford Explorer, which was traveling east at approximately 3:20 a.m., according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.

The woman was traveling at an unknown speed and failed to maintain control of her vehicle, which traveled down an embankment onto the offramp of eastbound State Route 94 at Bancroft, according to CHP Officer Brian Pennings.

The SUV traveled through an intersection, crashed through a chain link fence and hit a building, coming to a stop on its roof, which trapped the driver inside, Pennings said.

Despite being restrained with a seatbelt, the woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Pennings said.

A toxicology report was pending, but drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, Pennings said.

Officers continued to investigate the cause of the crash, and the woman's name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.
