New bill allows beer tasting rooms in local breweries

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Cheers to a new bill that will make it easier for local breweries to have tasting rooms.

It was written by Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.

It basically makes breweries exempt from the California retail food code requirements.

Before the bill, San Diego brewers would have had to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to comply with the code if they wanted to serve beer at a production site.

Assemblyman Fletcher is celebrating the bill at Green Flash Brewing Company in Mira Mesa.
