SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 6-year-old girl was struck by a motorboat Saturday while swimming near Fiesta Island, a San Diego lifeguard said.
The girl swam near the island's north shore at approximately 3:30 p.m., when she was hit by a 18-foot vessel, according to San Diego Lifeguard Lt. Nick Lerma.
Lifeguards responded to the crash but the girl's family ultimately took her to a hospital to be treated, Lerma said. The extent of her injuries was unknown.
