Fresh Up: Chargers' barber

Posted: Updated:

EL CAJON (CBS 8) - Inside Parkway Plaza, there's a barber shop where freestyle is the style.

"It is not a typical mama-papa barbershop. It is a log more urban and a lot more hip," Sergio Millan said.

Fresh Up Barber Shop has also become the official hair whackers of Chargers backers.

"Anything that you're going to get on your head that's a little different and a little wacky, that's what we do,"

This current Chargers carving crave started after defensive tackle Antonio Garay stopped by the shop.

"He came, he really like the haircut we did. It was a big hit," Sergio said. "We have a few other players that are going to be doing some wacko stuff."

Fans too have flocked to Fresh Up.

"If you want to show that you're a fan, you can get a Chargers bolt, get a freestyle design," Sergio said.

The freestylers at Fresh Up have designs on your dome.

"I wouldn't call them barbers. I would call them artists. The things they draw on people's heads is unbelievable," Sergio said.

Honestly, most folks come to Fresh Up Barber Shop for a trim or a fade or a business cut. And truth be told, not everyone here is a Bolts backer. Still, the staff here is dedicated to creating distinctive craniums.

"We have a little more swag than most cities. We're San Diego," Sergio said.

And we are ready for some football.
