SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Mayor Jerry Sanders is taking a three-day nation-wide tour of downtown sports and entertainment districts, to brainstorm ideas for a new Chargers stadium.
A local news source says Sanders and his advisors will visit Indianapolis, Kansas City, and Denver.
The trip announcement comes just one week after the Los Angeles City Council tentatively approved a deal to build a football stadium, with developer AEG.
This prompted speculation that the Bolts may leave San Diego for L.A.
The Chargers are able to end their deal with the city, to use Qualcomm stadium through 2020, by paying a termination fee.
According to the news source, that fee would be $24 million, which AEG has said it would pay.
