NEW YORK (AP) — Lawyers for former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn are fighting back against a New York hotel maid who accuses him of sexual assault after a media report about a medical exam saying she was injured by "assault" and "rape."

The French magazine L'Express published an account of the accuser's hospital record online Tuesday to accompany an interview with her lawyer.

L'Express says the record says part of her genitals was reddened and she reported shoulder pain after her May encounter with Strauss-Kahn. The report echoes claims in the woman's lawsuit against Strauss-Kahn.

He denies the allegations. His lawyers say the hospital report doesn't establish any injuries from a forcible encounter and relies heavily on the accuser's word.

Her lawyer says it's nonsense to suggest the encounter was consensual.
