(CBS 8) - An Indiana man is behind bars accused of crossing state lines to have sex with an underage girl in San Diego.
Federal prosecutors say 22-year-old Erik Epperson flew from his home near Terre Haute, Indiana to San Diego in January to see a 14-year-old girl he met on Facebook.
Once in town, the victim's step-sister picked up Epperson at the airport and drove him to her home, where he had sex with the girl twice.
Eventually, police in Indiana were tipped off about the crime and spoke to Epperson, who also admitted to having sex with eight other underage girls in Indiana and Illinois.
If convicted, he could face 30 years in prison.
