SAN MARCOS (CNS) - A 20-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday after being stabbed in an assault by several men, authorities said Tuesday.
The victim was stabbed about 10 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Nordahl Road, according to San Diego sheriff's Detective Jeffery Miller. Deputies received a report that the victim was assaulted by four or five men.
Deputies found the victim lying on the ground near the entrance of the complex, with puncture and slash wounds to his torso, Miller said. He was barely conscious and incoherent.
The victim was taken a hospital, where he remained in critical condition but was expected to survive, Miller said.
Deputies followed a blood trail from the victim's location to a nearby apartment, Miller said. Deputies knocked on the door and entered the residence.
Deputies detained six people at the residence including one who had cuts on his hands, Miller said. They were not immediately placed under arrest.
