SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 4-year-old girl was injured Saturday in a rollover vehicle crash caused by a suspected drunken driver, San Diego police said.

The crash happened about 7:15 a.m. as the driver of a Ford Explorer struck a curb while merging onto Fairmont Avenue from Aldine Drive in Kensington, according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali. The driver over-corrected the vehicle, causing it to roll several times, he said.

The sport utility vehicle contained the driver, a 23-year-old female passenger and two children, ages 4 and 2, in the back seat, Cali said.

The 4-year-old girl was unrestrained and was thrown from the vehicle, Cali said. She sustained several lacerations and was taken to a hospital.

The passenger sustained an abrasion to her right arm, Cali said.

The 2-year-old was in a booster seat and was not injured in the crash, Cali said.

The driver also escaped injury, but was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving, Cali said.
